NAHB Remodelers Chairman Visits Local Councils

Current NAHB Remodelers Chairman Mike Nagel, CGR, CAPS recently made stops at some local Remodelers Councils. Most recently visiting the HBA of Greater Southwest Illinois, Nagel participated in a full-day of Remodeler Council activities beginning with a Remodeling Roundtable attended by 20 remodeling and supply companies and code officals from five local jurisdictions. Here Nagel took the opportunity to speak about the value of committment and involvement in the industry, the importance of education, and the power of advocacy.

Nagel also participated in the HBA of SW Illinois's Tim Keleher Student of Achievement Awards. Serving as keynote speaker, Nagel helped honor top students (as nominated by their instructors) from all of the area building trades programs. Each student, while being recognized, receives a fully loaded tool box funded by the Keleher Development's support of the event. The Achievement Awards are names for the HBA's First Vice President who died unexpectedly leaving a legacy of leadership in the industry and in the local association which was later filed by Tim's son, Ken Keleher.

For more information about this program, call Jerry Romach, HBA of Greater SW Illinois, at 618-343-6331.
